The 3rd National Airway Program Singapore (NAPS 3)

Jointly organized by the Singapore Society of Anaesthesiologists (SSA) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital, the third edition of the annual National Airway Program (NAPS 3) was successfully held on 21 August 2021. The COVID pandemic had posed significant challenges to the organization of hands-on workshops, hence a hybrid format was eventually adopted. 24 course participants attended a series of informative talks followed by an interactive afternoon cricothyroidotomy hands-on workshop, helmed by members of the SSA Airway Special Interest Group. We were also honoured to have Dr Scott Douglas from the Royal Perth Hospital, Australia, share his institution’s research experience on surgical airway with us at the course.

We are looking forward to NAPS 4 in 2022. Hopefully by then, Singapore has transitioned into a COVID-resilient nation and we can incorporate many more hands-on skills stations for an immersive training experience for our participants.
